In March, guard Trey Zeigler announced he was visiting Duke after being granted permission to transfer following his second season with Central Michigan.
According to Jeff Goodman's Twitter account, @GoodmanCBS, the 6-foot-5 guard will not join the Blue Devils, however, instead opting to go to Pittsburgh.
Duke was thought to be among the favorites for the swingman, who averaged 15.8 points and 6.7 rebounds in his sophomore season. The Blue Devils recruited him coming out of high school after missing out on Harrison Barnes, but Zeigler instead chose to play for his father's Chippewas. When his father, Ernie Zeigler, was fired it set into motion the events leading to Trey's transfer.
Head coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke staff are still awaiting the decision from high school seniors Shabazz Muhammad, Tony Parker and Amile Jefferson. Those three can sign National Letters of Intent as soon as April 11, and Muhammad and Parker have both indicated that they will decide at the beginning of the signing period, which runs through May 16.
Krzyzewski and assistant coach Steve Wojciechowski visited with Muhammad this weekend, after recently making a final visit with Parker as well. Muhammad, a wing player, is the No. 2-rated recruit in the nation according to ESPNU, while Parker is the 26th-best recruit and seventh best center in the class.
