Dan Hurley will take the head coaching position at Rhode Island, and will take his older brother, former Duke point guard Bobby Hurley, with him, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com this morning.
The younger Hurley has been the head coach at Wagner for the last two seasons, with Bobby serving as an assistant. Wagner went 38-23 in that time, including 25-6 this past season, though it did not receive a postseason berth. The team won just five games in the season before Dan Hurley took over.
Bobby reportedly would have been named Wagner head coach in his brother's absence.
