In-home visit with top prospect scheduled for Monday night

After hosting ESPN’s No. 2 ranked player in the class of 2012, Mitch McGary, this weekend, head coach Mike Krzyzewski and staff will be in Las Vegas Monday evening for an in-home visit with the consensus No. 1 player in the class, Shabazz Muhammad. The 6-foot-6 wing is characterized as an incredibly athletic lefty who plays the game with a high level of intensity and maturity.

Last week Muhammad had in-home visits with UCLA and UNLV. Following Duke’s in-home visit, Muhammad will have in-home visits with Kentucky on September 13th and Kansas on September 14th. Next month Muhammad will make his first official visit to Kentucky for their midnight madness. Muhammad is expected to take an official to Duke during the season, however no date has been set yet.

Krzyzewski and staff will also conduct an in-home visit with McGary this week.  The 6-foot-10 power forward is deciding between Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Maryland and Duke. Due to his postgraduate status, McGary could take another visit to Durham later this year.

Sunday night, the Duke staff was in Houston, Texas, for an in-home visit with Rasheed Sulaimon, the only committed Blue Devil for the class of 2012. Sulaimon is currently the top-ranked guard according to Scout.com. Duke is also heavily involved with Alex Poythress and Tony Parker, who are scheduled to take their Duke official visits together on October 29 and 30.
