Defensive end Kenny Anunike tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee and will miss the rest of the 2011 campaign, head coach David Cutcliffe announced today.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Kenny as he recovers from yet another unfortunate injury,” Cutcliffe said in a press release. “He was obviously off to an excellent start this season, and we’ll miss his production and leadership on the defensive front.”
The redshirt junior was a dominant force on the Duke defensive line during the first three games of the season, recording four sacks. He also amassed 15 tackles—including 5 for a loss—and caused one fumble.
