The Blue Devils' full 2011-12 schedule was released today, and features nonconference matchups against Michigan State, Tennessee, Ohio State and Davidson—in the month of November alone.
Nov. 15 is the first must-circle date on the calendar, as Duke takes on Michigan State in New York City in what projects to be head coach Mike Krzyzewski's first shot at breaking Bob Knight's all-time Div. I college basketball coaching wins record. The Blue Devils will return to Durham briefly before flying to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational, which begins on Nov. 21 and features a loaded eight-team field including Memphis, Kansas, Georgetown, Michigan and Tennessee.
On Nov. 29, Duke will be in Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State in the ACC-Big 10 Challenge.
The regular season will open with the third annual Countdown to Craziness on Oct. 14. The Blue Devils will host exhibition games against Bellarmine and Shaw before the season officially begins Friday, Nov. 11, against Belmont.
Duke will host Colorado, UNC-Greensboro and Western Michigan and travel to Washington in the month of December. The team will also host the University of Pennsylvania and play Temple in Philadelphia before ACC play begins Jan. 7 at Georgia Tech.
The Blue Devils have two matchups with Wake Forest, Florida State, Maryland, Virginia Tech and North Carolina in a home-and-home format. Duke will also play the Yellow Jackets, Virginia, Clemson, Miami, N.C. State and Boston College once each in conference play.
All 31 regular season games will be televised, including 27 on the ESPN family of networks.
