The United States continued its undefeated run in the 2011 U19 FIBA Women's World Championships with a narrow 80-77 victory over China.
With the win the United States moves to 4-0 in tournament play, and China falls to 1-3.
Duke incoming freshman Elizabeth Williams led the American team with nine rebounds off the bench. The 6-foot-3 center also added six points, bringing her average to 7.2 per tournament game.
Chinese point guard Jiayi Zuo led all scorers with 23 points, followed by Americans Kaleena Lewis and Bria Hartley with 19 and 18, respectively.
The three-point margin of victory was the smallest for the Americans in tournament play—their 22-point victory over Japan had previously been their closest contest.
The United States will face Italy Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. EST before finishing group play against Canada, the only other undefeated team in Group E, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. EST.
