Interesting development out of Greensboro Coliseum today: Kyrie Irving appears to be warming up with the Blue Devils.
Two photos released by Duke Blue Planet show the freshman, who hasn't played since the Dec. 4 contest against Butler, in basketball shorts, a sleeveless white shirt and basketball shoes, running through layup lines. He appears to be wearing Duke uniform shorts, but not a jersey.
This, combined with rumors on Duke's campus and on Twitter today, have many Duke fans convinced Irving will be on the court against Maryland tonight.
Despite the hopeful appearance, though, Irving still will not play tonight, according to Duke associate sports information director Matt Plizga. In an e-mail to The Chronicle he wrote that Irving "will not suit up," and also told the (Raleigh) News & Observer that Irving just needed a place to work out in between ACC Tournament games.
