After two more stellar performances from guard Nolan Smith in wins against UNC Greensboro (108-62) and conference foe Miami (73-62), the senior was named ACC Player of the Week Monday.
With point guard Kyrie Irving out indefinitely, Smith's numbers have risen to new heights. In the two games this past week, he averaged 27 points per game to go along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Always a reliable shooter, Smith was lights out against UNC-G and Miami, going 17-for-27 from the field, and 7-for-11 from behind the arc. Perhaps most impressive was his 7-to-1 assist to turnover ratio, a noticable improvement from his season average of 1.83.
The undefeated Blue Devils (13-0) will face UAB on Wednesday.
