"It’s just totally, totally wrong that a kid who was on scholarship last year and participated in every practice—and nothing against Todd [Zafirovski] or Casey [Peters], those kids got rings, they deserved them—but so did Seth Curry.... It was totally, totally wrong," Krzyzewski said. "Totally wrong, because he’s a scholarship player. It’s just horrible. And there’s no way of getting around it."
Curry did not come onto the court with his teammates during the banner raising ceremony, when they also received their national champion rings and watches.
He later received eight stitches on his forehead courtesy of a Nolan Smith elbow. Curry finished with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting, despite being treated in the locker room for a chunk of the second half.
