At the end of yesterday’s article, “Lawyer: Irons will fight rape allegations”, you state, “It is Chronicle policy not to identify the victims of sexual assault cases.” In this unfortunate circumstance, Eric Irons has not been proven guilty. Might not he potentially be a “victim,” and shouldn’t you be as concerned about protecting his privacy as you are about protecting the privacy of his accuser?
