Catch the name of former Villanova All-American Scottie Reynolds' agent in articles detailing his decision to play in Italy next year?
None other than Lee Melchionni, forward at Duke from 2002-06 and 3-point specialist who averaged 3.9 points per game during his career.
After playing a year in Italy for Cimberio Novara, Melchionni joined the Wasserman Media Group in Los Angeles in 2007 and tutored under Arn Tellem, an agent on the level of Ari Gold in the sports world.
Now, Melchionni has built up his own impressive stable of clients. As late as 2009, Melchionni managed the day-to-day affairs of Joe Johnson, Mike Miller, Derrick Rose, LaMarcus Aldridge, Sheldon Williams and other NBA players. He also attended night classes at Loyola.
As he told Duke Blue Planet then, "I love my job and I know that my dedication and hard work will pay off in the long run. Also, my experience during my time at Duke was great preparation for the real-world demands of juggling school and a full-time job."
