The Cleveland Cavaliers star, whose future plans are the stuff of rampant speculation and questioning lately, has many people advising him on where continue his NBA career next year. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski, who James developed a close relationship with on the Olympic team, isn't one of them.
"I have not talked to LeBron," the coach said. "Those guys have individual decisions that they should always make in the best interests of themselves and their families."
Krzyzewski went on to say that the huge class of free agents this summer will have an effect on USA Basketball.
"It'll have an impact on USA Basketball, because those guys [Team USA free agents] won't be able to play this summer.... They've got to think of their bodies and careers," he said.
So James, plus several other high-profile names, including Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, won't be practicing with the team, nor, it would seem, playing in the FIBA World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey from August 28-September 12. Bad news for basketball fans; great news for international players forced to defend those stars.
