GDI endorses Passo and Schork

The Group of Duke Independents proudly endorses Will Passo for DSG President.

Passo distinguished himself with his commitment not only to advocate for the issues of unaffiliated students but also to lead by consensus. His platform displays a strong combination of passion to solve the problems facing the silent majority and the leadership to turn that passion into reality.

Passo’s experience as vice president of Durham and regional affairs shows an ability to form meaningful relationships that make him a qualified community-builder. As DSG president, Passo would capably unify the campus and take all students’ interests into account.

In terms of policy, Passo demonstrates by far the deepest understanding of issues facing unaffiliated students. He has correctly identified problems with Central Campus as a major issue, and boasts realistic plans to ameliorate these problems. Passo’s pragmatic approach to these and other issues shows he can follow through on his commitment to improve the student experience.

Gregory Morrison also impressed us with his effective leadership style and institutional knowledge. The depth and nuance of his understanding would make him a fine representative for students and a solid advocate for independents.

For the position of executive vice president, GDI endorses Pete Schork. Schork struck us as an effective and imaginative leader, and will represent the interests of all students well in leading the DSG Senate.
