"Duke Hoop" Web Series to Debut Today

Starting late this afternoon, the Blue Devils will have their own recurring web series, hosted and largely created by Duke's men's basketball players. "Duke Hoop"—which will give fans a behind-the-secenes look at the program—will be about seven to eight minutes per episode and available exclusively on the internet.

Junior Nolan Smith and senior forward Lance Thomas will host the first show, which will be available late in the afternoon on the Duke Blue Planet website as well as the team's YouTube channel.

"Lance and Nolan, they had a lot of fun with it and it'll show I think," recruiting coordinator Dave Bradley said. "They're pretty goofy, they're joking, they're smiling and then Nolan, more than any of the guys I'd say he's a natural, he has a good time with it. They like doing the stuff for the fans."

Though Bradley and a video crew will assist the players in making the shows, "Duke Hoop" will aim to give players creative license. Each show will have a number of recurring segments, including a feature of the week, a look inside the locker room, plays of the week and a short comedy clip modeled after the SportsCenter commercials. This week, the show will take a look at Casey Peters as well as discuss the players' musical tastes.

Currently, the Blue Devils plan to release an episode every other Friday.
