Trey Zeigler -- a four-star, 6-foot-5 guard from Mount Pleasant, Mich -- has added Duke to his list of schools he's considering for next year. Zeigler is rated as the 26th overall recruit in the Class of 2010, but Duke is a latecomer to the race, joining Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Miami and Central Michigan in vying for the high school star.
Duke faces some stiff competition, especially from schools in the Michigan area, where Zeigler lives. His father, Ernie Zeigler, is the head coach at Central Michigan and has been persistent in recruiting his son. Michigan and Michigan State have also both been hot after the guard, trying to trap in-state talent.
Zeigler told WDFN radio on December 17: "They're (Michigan and Michigan St.) close to home, less than two hours away. Michigan State wants me to play all three positions, the one, two and three. Michigan is pretty much the same thing; they see me doing a lot of different things in their offense. They both tell me there's going to be a lot of opportunity for playing time right away. Both situations look great right now."
Duke's 2010 recruitment class is already strong with Kyrie Irving , Joshua Hairston and Tyler Thornton, and after missing on Harrison Barnes, adding Zeigler would only make it better.
