In addition to this Friday's Countdown to Craziness event, Duke Basketball announced details about two other events sure to attract a crowd: its annual open practice and the timing of sporting events over the Oct. 24 Parents' Weekend.
This year's open practice will be held this Saturday, Oct. 17—that's the day after Countdown to Craziness. Practice begins at 1 p.m. and runs for two hours, but will be preceded by a 90-minute autograph session in Cameron Indoor Stadium with the Blue Devil players. The autograph session runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
As for Parents' Weekend, Duke faces Pfeiffer in a basketball exhibition and Maryland in an extremely meaningful football game, and the two events have been scheduled so that students and visitors can attend both on the same day. The football game, the Blue Devils' first since a big win at N.C. State, will kick off at 1:30, and proceedings in Cameron get started at 6:30 p.m.
