The No. 5 Blue Devils haven't played at home since they beat up on Canisius 20-1 March 20. But in its return to Koskinen Stadium Friday at 7 p.m., Duke takes on No. 4 North Carolina with the second seed in the ACC tournament on the line.
The Tar Heels have won the two teams' last two rivalry meetings, including a 16-14 win in 2008 in Chapel Hill.
The Blue Devils (10-3, 3-1 in the ACC) have played just six home games this season, and they are undefeated in Koskinen. The Tar Heels (11-3, 3-1), though, are the best team Duke has faced at home.
In Duke's last contest, a 14-9 win over Boston College Saturday, senior Carolyn Davis posted six goals for the second time this year and was crucial in helping the Blue Devils erase an early 3-0 deficit.
The Tar Heels, on the other hand, just saw an eight-game winning streak snapped to Maryland, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ACC tournament.
