Getson, Schork, Passo

The Duke Panhellenic Association represents more than 1,000 women on this campus. Our experiences as Duke women are complex and often misunderstood. We seek to identify candidates who not only have the interests of Greek women at heart, but who also have a deep understanding of women's issues.

With this in mind, the Panhellenic Association's executive board and presidents endorse the following Duke Student Government candidates:

For president, we endorse Awa Nur. Her diverse set of personal experiences coupled with her impressive DSG experience differentiates her platform from the other candidates'. In particular, we note her idea of forming a President's Council on Greek Affairs. We look forward to seeing what Nur will accomplish as DSG's first female president in about a decade.

We endorse Gregory Morrison for executive vice president because of his dedication to transparency in DSG, his openness to more Greek input and his commitment to real improvements.

We endorse Spencer Eldred for vice president of student affairs. He is the most experienced candidate who has already proved himself in other campus leadership positions. We particularly would like to note his commitment to improving women's life on campus.

We endorse Ben Getson for vice president of academic affairs. Having already created the course syllabus archive and course ranking Web site, Getson seems well prepared to take on this role.

For vice president of athletics and campus services, we endorse Peter Schork. His previous accomplishments qualify him for this position. We suggest, however, he consider making improvements to SafeRides a larger part of his platform.

Finally, we endorse Will Passo for vice president of Durham and regional affairs. We were impressed by Will's personal knowledge of the Durham community and desire to improve Duke's public image.

Although the Panhellenic Association represents a diverse group of women, we are confident that these candidates will support the interests of our organization.
