Duke Draws No. 3 Seed In ACC Tournament

After battling back to beat North Carolina in overtime, the Blue Devils were rewarded with not having to play the Tar Heels or Maryland again until the final of the ACC tournament, if they get there.

Duke earned the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament in a field announced at the conclusion of Duke's overtime win. Maryland earned the No. 1 seed, upstart Florida State took the No. 2 and the Tar Heels earned the last first-round bye with the No. 4 seed.

The Blue Devils play the winner of the 6-11 matchup, which pits Virginia against Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers could be a tough matchup with its three-headed attack of Monica Wright, Aisha Mohammed and Lyndra Littles, but Duke beat up on the Cavaliers by 14 on the road Feb. 5.

Joanne P. McCallie's squad plays its first game at 8 p.m. next Friday. The Tournament's semifinals and final are on FSN.
