2009 American Dance Festival Season Announced

The 76th American Dance Festival season, "Where Ballet and Modern Meet," is set for June 11 to July 25. Highlights for the festival include eight world premieres, one U.S. premiere and four reconstructions. Choreographer Shen Wei, who visited Duke in January, is one of the talents represented this year among other companies such as festival favorite Pilobolus and Japanese Art Chaos.

One of the changes for the coming season include extending performances from Duke's campus to Durham Performing Arts Center and other Triangle locations. According to the ADF website:

Work that was previously presented at Page Auditorium on the Duke University campus will now be presented at the beautiful new Durham Performing Arts Center in downtown Durham. Performances will also continue to be presented at Reynolds Industries Theater on the campus of Duke University, and this season at two additional locations in the Triangle community.
