So what was the best advice coming out of this past weekend's Fannie Mitchell Career Conference? With 21 diverse panels and about 100 alums and professors sharing their collective wisdom, the one theme that transcended all was "relationships."
Regardless of where your professional interest lies, a large network of friends and acquaintances who respect you as a person is invaluable, and there is no better time or place to build those relationships than at Duke. Remember, business is all about people. As our society progresses further and further into a technology-driven world where what-you-know is so important, it still remains that who-you-know plays a critical role in helping achieve success along that long and often winding path we call a "career."
So don't feel guilty about that week at Myrtle beach. The experts agree that it will be a prudent and productive investment in your future.
