Taste test

Didn't take our advice on breaking up? No worries; we've got you covered in case you think your plus-one is the one...or, you know, close enough. With that in mind, your pizza-eating, beer-swilling editors and food connoisseur/photographer Eric Mansfield spent a night out at PARIZADE'S, sampling the classy restaurant's Valentine's Day fare, complete with supposed aphrodisiacs. Luckily, your editors were, ahem, professional enough to focus on the food and not on each other.

Appetizer Sampler Oyster shooters, tuna tartare crackers and jumbo crab meat. The oysters, soaked in a bloody mary, had a strong punch that stood out above the milder tuna and somewhat bland crab.

Lover's Salad Mixed greens, asparagus, berries and nuts, topped with honey vanilla dressing. The salad overall was moist with a diverse texture, and the sweeter-than-candy dressing combined with the blue cheese to top it off in style.

Seafood Platter Scallops, shrimp, octopus and stuffed calimari in tomato fennel puree. The plate permeated with freshness, although we couldn't help but savor the shrimp and scallops. The octopus: well, it sucked.

Bouillabaise (fish soup) with grouper fish, shrimp, scallops and clams. The shrimp and scallops were old news by this point, but the bouillabaise popped with flavor and lightness-the perfect tomato soup for grown-ups.

Entree Duck in chestnut risotto with apple brown butter sauce. The waiter's personal favorite was a hit with us: The creamy risotto was the perfect partner for the sweet and tender duck.

Dessert Banana napoleon, chocolate torte, and cr
