Nolan Smith, who ran into a screen and crumpled to the floor in the second half of Duke's 78-67 win over Maryland Wednesday, was suffering from a mild headache but had not been nauseous during or after the game, Mike Krzyzewski said after the game. Krzyzewski added that the Blue Devils' medical staff thought Smith might have suffered a mild concussion. Smith's mother and stepfather, who live in the Washington D.C. area, met the sophomore after the game and took him to a local hospital.
Smith was flattened by a screen from Dave Neal at the 15:34 mark in the second half and did not return. He left the bench and went to the locker room later in the second half.
