Chameides on Obama's energy plan

Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment Bill Chameides is skeptical that President Obama's energy and environment plan will work. In a CNN article yesterday, he says the plan is only as realistic as is the the possibility of securing funding:

"These technologies are not new. They have been around for 10 to 15 years. Government can push new policies, but it has to prove to be economically competitive or else it will not happen."

On his blog, The Green Grok, Chameides also pontificates on Obama's efforts to better the environment, taken a historical look at White House policies and noting that Democrats haven't necessarily been the most progressive in that realm.
