Kelly's Ravenscroft Tops Wall

On a night when No. 2 Duke scored an emphatic win, future Blue Devil Ryan Kelly didn't fare too badly, either.

Kelly, a five-star recruit who will attend Duke next year, and Raleigh's Ravenscroft School beat Word of God, featuring highly touted recruit John Wall, 68-59 Wednesday. Kelly led all scorers with 23 points, while Wall was second on Word of God with 17 points.

Wall, one of the nation's top remaining recruits, attended Duke's ACC opener. Mike Krzyzewski apparently turned up the recruiting fire on Wall after Kenny Boynton committed to Florida, leaving him in the lurch for a point guard.

On Wednesday, though, Wall was no match for the forward Krzyzewski has already locked up.

"Obviously the big difference in the game was Ryan Kelly played like an All-American," Ravenscroft head coach Kevin Billerman told The N&O.
