Duke junior Dylan Arnould took the Duke Invitational singles championship Monday as the Blue Devils wrapped up their home tournament in which they won 23 of 27 singles matches and nine of the 13 doubles bouts.
Arnould bounced back from a one-set deficit in the final against North Carolina's Luke Mojica, taking the second set, 7-5, and the third set, 6-1, to win the title. It was the second straight year that the Blue Devils have taken the singles title.
"Dylan played great this weekend," head coach Ramsey Smith said. "Dylan just kept the pressure and eventually his opponent broke down and he played an amazing third set to win 6-1. He was really consistent, and I was happy with how he played."
Duke begins the dual match season at home Thursday at 6 p.m. against Elon.
