Tauiliili Named Player of the Week

It wasn't the award he's been waiting for, but it might be a stepping stone for future honors.

Senior linebacker Michael Tauiliili was rewarded for his career-high 20-tackle effort in Duke's 28-20 loss to North Carolina with his second ACC Player of the Week award, the league announced Monday. Tauiliili, who added a team-high fourth interception Saturday, also garnered the honor after Duke's 31-3 win over Virginia earlier in the season.

Tauiliili also figures to be in contention for the ACC's Defensive Player of the Year award, and if David Cutcliffe has his way, could challenge for a spot on the All-American team. He leads the ACC with 40 tackles.
