Sophomore point guard Jasmine Thomas, who missed Duke's 59-56 win over Western Kentucky Friday, will be sidelined for about the next two weeks with a sprained MCL.
Thomas' backup, freshman Chelsea Hopkins, has a meniscus injury, the extent of which was still unknown Sunday night. The two injuries could slow the Blue Devil offense, which would essentially be functioning without a true floor general. Shooting guard Abby Waner may be forced to take up the ball, which would move her from her natural position.
The No. 12 Blue Devils next play Thursday night against Iowa in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The "two weeks" diagnosis would slate Thomas to return to the lineup for Duke's widely anticipated matchup at home against No. 6 Stanford Dec. 16, easily Duke's marquee non-conference game.
