Duke players honored by ACC

Four Blue Devils were designated All-ACC performers Monday, led by middle linebacker Michael Tauiliili, the only Duke player to receive first-team honors.

Quarterback Thaddeus Lewis and wide receiver Eron Riley were both rewarded with spots on the second team, while defensive lineman Vince Oghobaase was tabbed as an honorable mention pick.

Tauiliili, one of three linebackers on the ACC's first team, received the second-most amount of votes at the position. The ACC's leading tackler, the senior paced Duke with four interceptions and recorded a career-high 20 tackles in Duke's 28-20 loss to North Carolina Saturday. He was also named the league's Defensive Player of the Week Monday for his effort against the Tar Heels.

Lewis earned the second-most votes among quarterbacks, trailing only N.C. State's Russell Wilson, and Riley trailed North Carolina's Hakeem Nicks and Wake Forest's D.J. Boldin.

The three players on the two teams were the most amount of conference laurels Duke has earned since 2003, when it placed four players on the squads.
