Just as Duke's student politicos read up on numerous political blogs, I procrastinate by sifting through feeds of amateur music writing.
One of my favorites (that I only found through another blog) is Hipster Runoff, an unapologetically cynical view of the new indie/music-blogging/skinny jeans/too-cool-for-pitchfork "alt" scene written in the ultra-cutting edge drunken text message style.
While I get a kick out of the party pixxx-laden mobile posts, every once in a while we get some intellectual content. Most recently, "Carles" tackles the future of music journalism (make sure to watch the IFC panel discussion).
