Quarterback Thaddeus Lewis threw for nearly 300 yards, linebacker Michael Tauiliili recorded a career-high 20 tackles in his last game and the Blue Devils had the ball inside the 10-yard line with a chance to tie in the last minute. But yet again, the combination resulted in another Duke loss.
North Carolina survived another stern test from the Blue Devils before pulling out a 28-20 win Saturday in Wallace Wade Stadium to claim the Victory Bell for the fifth straight year. The loss ended David Cutcliffe's first season with a 4-8 record, but the Blue Devils lost their last five games of the season.
