I realize Megna Raksit's Tuesday column, "The meaning of monogomy," was intended to be a column about dating, but, to clarify, the word "monogamy" means that you get married once in your lifetime, according to Merriam-Webster.
Raksit's definition-that you are monogamous if you don't cheat on your boyfriend or girlfriend-actually applies to the phrase "openly and honestly promiscuous." I won't begrudge the Duke community its right to order its own sex life, but please leave the term "monogamous" to those of us who have chosen it (or better yet, give some serious thought to choosing it).
