Lawson transcends party

As a Duke alum, I'm incredibly disappointed in The Chronicle Editorial Board's endorsement of David Price.

The only justification can be that the Editorial Board suffers from the same kind of ideological tribalism that is killing democracy in this country.

B.J. Lawson is the kind of person who transcends party, and for that reason alone he is refreshing. A (true) fiscal conservative who actually respects the limits of the Constitution, he also opposes the endless war(s) we're conducting, the Patriot Act and many other usurpations of power and civil liberty that threaten this republic.

I encourage the students of Duke University to think critically about this endorsement, and then to decide, using independent thought and analysis, which candidate best supports and defends the Constitution of the United States.
