Chestnut, Kelly Out For Duke; True Freshmen To Start

True freshman wide receiver Johnny Williams will play despite suffering from a dental abscess Saturday against Vanderbilt—and Duke will certainly need him. Two of the Blue Devils' normal starting wideouts, Raphael Chestnut and Austin Kelly, are out with leg injuries sustained in Duke's 49-31 loss to Miami last Saturday. Williams and fellow freshman wide receiver Donovan Varner will start in their place, along with senior star Eron Riley.

Chestnut and Kelly are Duke's third- and fourth-leading wide receivers, trailing Williams and Riley in receiving yards. Riley and Williams have combined for 49 of Duke's 78 catches, while the speedy Varner has grabbed two. Chestnut, though, is coming off his best game of the season last week, when he caught five passes for 58 yards and his lone touchdown of the year.
