In the wilds of Science Drive is a land to which few undergrads dare venture. Populated by self-made 20- and 30-somethings with serious career ambitious, it is the land of the Fuqua School of Business.
In its heart is hidden a new cafe. With a salad bar, a grill, soups, sandwiches and other options, Fuqua provides what your freshman self always wished the Marketplace would-sans Wallace, of course.
Relative to other on-campus options, Fuqua provides diners with great options and good quality food. But by regular standards, Fuqua is just average dining.
The hamburgers, grilled fish and quesadillas are tasty but easy fare that could easily be replicated with a trip to Kroger. A creole shrimp dish with bacon, rice, baby shrimp, canned tomatoes and jalapeños failed to excite any taste buds.
In a style similar to the Great Hall, each a la carte item tops out around $6. The downside of the cafe is its refusal of food points. Although the cafe takes FLEX (and even gives you a discount for using it), the plethora of off-campus dining options far superior to the spot and equally as out of the way provide little incentive to make the trek to Fuqua.
It's best to just leave the budding CEOs to themselves and just go to the Refectory. It's closer, better and accepts your magic money.
