Nice little weekend for the No. 9 women's tennis team, which beat Temple 4-0 Friday and No. 24 William & Mary 4-1 Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. First singles player Tara Iyer clinched the second win for the Blue Devils, who will play the winner of the California-LSU matchup in Tulsa, Okla. starting May 15.
Between basketball tournaments, lacrosse games, athletic director news and coaching searches, we haven't had the space to adequately cover this squad all season, but they've put together a hell of a year. Their record now stands at 19-4, and you can read more about the team Thursday in our first summer issue.
