Behind two goals from Megan Del Monte and Lindsay Gilbride, the Blue Devils upset No. 3 Maryland 9-7 today to advance to the Final Four for the fourth straight year. The team will play the winner of No. 2 Penn-Boston next Friday in Towson, Md.
After an 11-7 regular season, Duke has turned it on in the postseason, first upsetting No. 6 Georgetown last weekend and now getting past the Terrapins. After losing Caroline Cryer, the team's best player, early in the season to an injury, earning the national semifinals is even more of an accomplishment.
Full game story will run in Thursday's edition of The Chronicle.
