Matt Danowski and Zack Greer were listed as finalists for the Tewaaraton Trophy, the Heisman Trophy of college lacrosse, Tuesday.
Danowski, a fifth-year senior and the 2007 Tewaaraton winner, leads the country in points and assists, a good portion of which went to Greer. With three more points, he will become the NCAA's all-time leading scorer. Greer, a senior, set a record of his own last weekend when he became the NCAA's all-time leading goal scorer. He currently leads the country in goals and trails only Danowski in points.
The other three teams represented with finalists are Virginia, Syracuse and Johns Hopkins. Duke beat Virginia twice and Hopkins once, and it seems that Danowski and Greer are the two frontrunners for the prestigious award.
