What's the best spot to watch our top-shelf men's and women's basketball teams battle the Tar Holes from Crapel Hill? Molly McGarrett rates the best joints in town.
The Dillo
Nothing goes better with this All-American rivalry than fare from south of the border and a wide selection of imported beers. While the Crazies may look down on you from their high horse and lament your lack of dedication, you know that you have the ability to use the restroom whenever you like and will never have to know what it feels like to sleep in a puddle.
A- It may not have the same atmosphere as Cameron, but at least the nachos are better.
Cameron Indoor
It might not even be fair to grade this mecca of college basketball alongside the likes of a campus taco shop, but there's a reason why on this night-of-nights Cameron is inhabited by only the few and the proud. Long nights of sleeping on the ground, shielded from the elements by merely glorified gym bag, can take its toll on virtually anyone-regardless of the extent of that Busch Light buzz.
A+ Camp grounds aside, Cameron is nothing less than perfection in stadium form.
Franklin Street
If you can stomach all of that Carolina blue, watching the game amidst a herd of Heels might be your best bet. Just imagine what it would feel like to witness, in person, the abrupt silencing of hundreds of Carolina fans as Paulus sinks a game-winning, buzzer-beating three. But speaking of beatings, here's hoping that you can keep that trash talk to a minimum or at least run fast enough to get a head start on your new Chapel Hill bar buddies.
B+ As they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Commons Room
To the laziest among us, nothing beats a game-time experience that necessitates absolutely no outdoor travel. Sure, those gleeful text messages from your friends in Cameron might be irritating, but your ability to watch the game in your bathrobe while ordering Merchants on Points and lounging on your futon at least lets you claim the title of "Most Comfortable."
B Convenient, sure, but flying directly in the face of Duke's "Work hard, Play hard" mantra.
