The Blue Devils' streak of nine straight wins at the Tar Heel Invitational was snapped last year.
But Duke came back with a bang in 2007.
The Blue Devils carded a three-day total of 877 this weekend at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, defeating second-place Tennessee by two strokes.
After scoring a 303 Friday-which put Duke in ninth place-the team battled back with a 287 Saturday to climb back to second place.
The Volunteers entered Sunday with a three-stroke lead over the Blue Devils. That edge was up to nine by the time Duke made the turn-but the Blue Devils fired five-under-par on the back nine to overtake Tennessee.
Junior Amanda Blumenhurst led the comeback, shooting three-under-par on the back nine. The two-time National Player of the Year shot seven-under-par for the tournament to win the individual title, beating out Georgia's Alina Lee by three strokes. Vanderbilt's Jackqui Concolino finished third with a 214.
Blumenhurst became the ninth different Blue Devil to win the Tar Heel Invitational. She now has nine tournament victories in her Duke career, putting her three shy of Duke's all-time record, held by Mary Anne Widman.
