Walk the Line... RM would like to thank Dr. Larry Moneta for directing potential donors to his West Campus Plaza instead of more mundane projects such as financial aid or the renovation of decrepit building interiors. But are students taking advantage of the new, wide-open space, peacefully located above the Bryan Center loading bay and Great Hall dumpsters? A few glances at the plaza reveal the vast majority of students walking in straight lines from the main quadrangle to the student center's entrance or sitting outside of The Loop enjoying the sun. It's almost as if all the University needed was a walkway leading to the BC with a small patio adjacent to The Loop.
pack a raincoat... Always on the lookout for our readers, RM would like to distribute a public service announcement to all those who plan to take advantage of the plaza's wireless internet network. The $800,000 water misters can come on at any moment with, in Dr. Moneta's words, "a gentle burst," so RM hopes you weren't silly enough to bring a laptop.
lovin' it... The most popular man to leave campus last semester wasn't basketball superstar J.J. Redick but Rafael Perez, the gregarious McDonald's manager who was promoted to a larger location in Raleigh. Now, Rafael is back in the BC, and RM requests he stay put this time.
