The Duke Democrats president-elect wants to get Duke students’ hands dirty in the trenches of politics. “I just want people to have more of an idea what it’s all about—the North Carolina Democratic party is not just Duke.”
The Mississippi native got his start stuffing envelopes for a mayoral race at 16; this summer the public policy and biomedical engineering major is studying poverty. And while he wants to become a doctor, the floppy-haired Southerner sees a real connection between his work and his life.
