Man arrested for assault on female

Officers responded to Edens quad in reference to a report of an assault on a female March 14. Officers took the victim, who suffered minor injuries, to the Duke Emergency Department for treatment. Officers charged Twan Ngo (DOB 07-02-56, 308 Village Dr, Sanford, NC) with assault on a female. Ngo, who could not be reached for comment, was transported to the Durham County Jail and released. His court date is set for March 24.

Morning mischief leaves woman without wallet

An employee reported March 14 that her wallet was stolen from her purse in Duke Hospital. The employee said she placed her purse under a desk at a nursing station at 9 a.m. March 14. She found her purse in the middle of the floor with the wallet missing at 10:30 a.m. the same day. The stolen wallet and contents are valued at $80.

ER visitor charged with weapon possession

Officers in the Duke Emergency Department issued a citation to Anthony Houge (DOB March 2, 1962, 416 Ridgefield Road, Chapel Hill) for possession of a weapon on campus March 10. Houge was found to be carrying a firearm after he passed through the metal screening area when he brought a family member to the Duke ED. His court date is set for April 13. Houge could not be reached for comment.

Probation violator caught fishing money out of well

Officers responded March 6 to a report of a man taking money out of the fountain in the lobby of Duke Hospital. When officers arrived they found Leon Holeman (DOB Sept. 21, 1981, 611 Canal St., Durham) with coins from the fountain in his pocket. A records check on Holeman showed an outstanding warrant for probation violation. Holeman was transported to the Durham County Jail where he was charged with misdemeanor larceny and probation violation. His court date was set for March 11. Holeman could not be reached for comment.

Callbox damaged at Southgate

A student reported damage to the intercom/telephone at the front of Southgate Dormitory at 1:03 a.m. March 7. The student reported that someone attempted to burn the telephone keypad on the phone, causing $50 in damage. There are no suspects at this time.

Jeep vandalized on East Campus

A student reported March 7 that her 2002 Jeep Cherokee was damaged while parked at the rear of Jarvis Dormitory. The student said she parked her vehicle in the lot at 2 a.m. March 6 and returned to the lot at 7 a.m. March 7. When she returned to her vehicle she found a long scratch on both the driver's side front and rear doors. The damage to her vehicle is valued at $400.

Mysterious caller harasses employee

A female employee at the North Pavilion reported that she received approximately 20 harassing phone calls between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. March 9. She stated that the caller would only breathe loudly over the phone before she would hang up.

Chrysler missing from PG2

A visitor reported March 9 that her 1995 black Chrysler Cirrus was stolen from Parking Garage 2. She stated that she left the vehicle in the garage March 4 after it began to experience some mechanical failures. The victim stated that she had all of the keys for the vehicle at the time of the theft.

Tires punctured on Duke vehicle

An employee reported March 10 that a Duke-owned 2001 Ford truck was damaged while parked on Edens Drive. The employee said he parked the truck on Edens Drive at 4 p.m. March 9. When he returned to the vehicle at 7 a.m. March 10, he found that all four tires had been punctured by a sharp object. Damage to the tires is estimated at $600.

Vehicle scratched, tire valve caps stolen in med center garage

An employee reported damage to her 2003 Kia March 11. The employee said that during the past four days her vehicle has been scratched while parked in one of the medical center parking garages. The employee also stated that the $10 tire valve caps were stolen during this period. The damage to her vehicle is valued at $200.

Two-time trespasser arrested on East

Officers on East Campus noticed a man acting strangely on the East Campus Quadrangle at 11:03 p.m. March 12. Officers stopped and checked Andre Roberts (DOB Dec. 29, 1961, 4335 Revere Road, Durham) and found that Roberts had been trespassed from Duke Nov. 27, 2003. Roberts was charged with second degree trespassing and transported to the Durham County Jail, where he was placed under a $500 secured bond. His court date is set for March 30. Roberts could not be reached for comment.

Cell phone lifted from hospital

A student reported March 13 that his $200 Samsung cell phone had been stolen from Duke Hospital. The student said he last had his cell phone at 1 p.m. March 11 and noticed that it was missing at 7 a.m. March 12.

Wallet thief takes paper and plastic

An employee reported March 12 that her brown leather wallet containing $34 in cash and a Visa credit card was stolen from Duke Hospital. The employee said she left her purse behind a trash can under a desk in her work area at 9 a.m. March 12. When she retrieved her purse at 4 p.m. the same day, she found her wallet was missing. The stolen wallet and contents are valued at $80.

Cash filched from patients' purses

A visitor reported at 6:30 p.m. March 12 that an unknown amount of money was stolen from her purse. The visitor said the money was taken from her purse while she was a patient at Duke Hospital. The visitor could not determine when the money was taken or how much money was taken.

A visitor reported March 12 that $160 was stolen from her purse while she was a patient at Duke Hospital. The visitor said she had the money in her purse when she arrived at Duke at 1:30 p.m. March 10. The money was missing from her purse when she looked for it at 2 p.m. March 12.
