BEARD CHOSEN AS PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Alana Beard was named as the WBCA's first national player of the month for December. During that timespan, the two-time All-American and school career scoring leader led the Blue Devils to five wins while averaging 18.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 4.0 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game. The No. 1 Blue Devils are currently on a 13-game winning streak.

MAY NAMED ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
        North Carolina center Sean May was named the ACC Player of the Week after helping the Tar Heels rebound from a tough loss at Kentucky with impressive victories against Miami and Georgia Tech. The 6-foot-9 sophomore tallied 23 points and 16 rebounds against Miami, and followed that up with a career-high 28 points and 8 boards in the victory over the Yellow Jackets.
