This Saturday our football team plays Georgia Tech at 1 p.m. in Wallace Wade Stadium. This game will be the last for 32 of our team's seniors. These young men have not enjoyed the success in terms of wins that they all came to Duke--in part--to achieve. However, they have worked very hard, and it is our intent to do everything possible to win this game.
It is for this reason that I am asking for your support this Saturday. We need the advantage of having you in the stands. We need the spirit in the stadium that only the Blue Devil fans can bring.
Over the past two weeks this team has given Duke everything in terms of preparation that I could ever ask from it. Now, I am asking you to be at Wallace Wade on Saturday--to arrive early and stay late.
Our staff, our team and I will give you everything we have in our quest to win this game! I cannot guarantee a victory, but I can assure you that the members of this team will fight their hearts out to earn a win and make us all proud.
Thank you for your time and I hope to see you Saturday, Nov. 8, at your very best. Let's all make this--your Senior Day--one to remember at Wallace Wade Stadium.
