Short-Term Illness form now available online

The "Notification Form for Short-Term Illness" should be available today for student use at www.aas.duke.edu/trinity/t-reqs/illness, said chemistry professor James Bonk, who chaired the committee that re-examined the old Dean's Excuse policy.

Flu vaccine schedule posted

Duke employees can receive flu vaccine shots beginning Oct. 20 at the Employee and Occupational Health and Wellness clinic in the red zone basement of the Duke Clinic building. The flu vaccines are free to Duke employees, who must bring a Duke ID. Hours for the vaccine are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Vaccines are also available throughout late October and early November at sites across campus.

Employee fitness club expands

The Duke Fitness Club now includes the Duke Health and Fitness Center. Now, Duke University and Health System faculty, staff, retirees and their families can get discounted rates on fitness memberships at the center, located on the Center for Living campus on Erwin Road.

The Duke Fitness Club is coordinated through LIVE FOR LIFE and includes a network of full-service fitness facilities located throughout the Triangle. Membership rates are paid through payroll deduction.
