Cars looted, equipment stolen

A student reported that between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and 5 p.m. Sept. 1, while his vehicle was parked in Blue Zone lot #5, someone pried open a door and stole his $250 Sony CD player.






Wallets whisked away
An employee reported that between 1 p.m. Sept. 8 and 7 a.m. Sept. 9, her $15 wallet containing $35 in cash, ATM cards, driver's license and Social Security card were stolen from an unknown area in North Pavilion.
A student reported that between 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Sept. 9, someone entered the workroom located on 2300 Duke North, and stole $35 in cash from her unsecured wallet she had placed in a bag.

Plate purloined
A student reported that between 9 p.m. Sept. 5 and 9 p.m. Sept. 8, someone removed his $25 license plate, number RVK-6532 N.C., and the two screens holding the plate, from his vehicle while it was parked at the rear of Epworth Dormitory.

Ambulance raided
An employee reported that between 12:15 and 1 p.m. Sept. 9, he left the rear of Duke Lifecare ambulance open when he brought a patient to the Emergency Department. When he returned, he discovered that someone had rummaged through the ambulance in an apparent attempt to locate drugs. Nothing was noted missing.

Tools taken
Five employees reported that between 4:45 p.m. Sept. 3 and 6:40 a.m. Sept. 4, unknown person(s) entered Duke Clinic, Green Zone-M015, room 15C, and stole the employees' tools. The tools are either marked with Duke numbers inscribed with J. R. Construction or with Crawford Construction. Tools and cart are valued at $2,135.

Surgical glasses nabbed
An employee reported that between an unknown time Aug. 25 and 7 a.m. Sept. 2, someone stole his surgical telescope glasses, with his name inscribed on the side arm, from 2200 Duke North sleeproom.

Bicycles snatched
A student reported that between 3 p.m. Sept. 4 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 5, his $150 Mongoose bicycle, blue and white in color, serial number XR150, was stolen from the bike rack located at Wilson Dormitory. A student reported that between 4 p.m. Sept. 3 and 12:01 a.m. Sept. 6, his Schwinn bicycle, red in color with blue writing on it, was stolen from the bike rack between Brown and Bassett dormitories.

Door damaged
At 8:31 p.m. Sept. 8, a Duke officer responded to 228 E Physics Building in reference to an unsecured door. Upon closer examination it was noted that the metal molding around the door latch was pried open so that the door would not secure. Damage was estimated at $75.

Purse pilfered, purse picked
A student reported that between 1:55 and 2 a.m. Sept. 6, someone stole her $15 purse, containing credit cards, $30 in cash, LG VX-4400 Satellite cell phone, keys and driver's license from a bench while she was attending a party in House E Commons.

Laptop grabbed
A student reported that between 10 and 10:15 a.m. he left his study area located in the sub-basement of Divinity School. When he returned, his $2,500 Compaq EVO laptop computer, serial number 9X34LDLVJ4PH, model number N1020V, had been stolen.

Windshield whacked
A student reported that between 11:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and 1:10 a.m. Sept. 9, while her vehicle was parked in the "H" parking lot located at the Yearby Street bus stop, someone shattered her $450 front windshield. Nothing was stolen.
