Revenge of the Robots Tour

When's the last time you saw a really stellar indie-hip hop show? Yeah--thought so. Don't apologize because it's definitely not your fault. The Triangle knows as much about indie-hip hop as you know about--well, indie-hip hop. Between the countless rock bands and country crooners that frequent the local venues, it's no wonder you're not up to speed.

All wrongs will be forgiven Oct. 6, however, as the Lincoln Theatre hosts Definitive Jux's "Revenge of the Robots Tour" for your education and, of course, for your entertainment. And you can bet your sweet arse you'll be entertained.

Def Jux is one of the most respected underground rap labels around and boasts such acts as Aesop Rock and Cannibal Ox, whose impressive and intelligent rhymes have earned them a taste of national recognition. Apparently, these two are just the tip of the iceberg.

The show features EL-P, Mr. Lif, RJD2, Cage, Copywrite and DJ Fakts One, all talented up-and-comers who do it better than those money-grubbing endorsement whores you're likely to see on MTV or BET.

So when you get back from Fall Break and you're brain has had time to recover from those midterms, head out to Lincoln Theatre and get some real education.
