General festival note: Thursday and Friday's films are showing at the Durham Armory on 220 Foster St. in downtown Durham. Ticket prices at this venue are $5 per screening or $20 for all the showings on both nights.

8:15 p.m.: Nobody Knows My Name (60 min.)
9:45 p.m.: Scratch (75 min.)--Scratch is DJs spinnin' vinyl/takin' hip hop to the final/frontier of artistic expression/impressin'/global cats in every manner/the only DJ you won't see--DJ Tanner.... There should be a "Full House" for this screening.
Friday September 20
7:00 p.m.: Breathcontrol--The History of Human Beatboxing (73 min.)--These are the guys who can beatbox without sounding like they are making fart noises with their mouths (no offense Speak of the Devil).
9:30 p.m.: Straight Outta Hunters Point (75 min.)--Read the interview about three inches to your left, playa.
11:15 p.m.: Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme (90 min.)--This film features MCs like Mos Def, Cut Chemist, Living Legends and afterwards--you! Open Mic after the show/come and kick your flow/you can spit didactic intergalactic rap schtick/wax poetic after this phonetic energetic rap flick.

Sunday, September 22
3-6 p.m.: JAZZ on the Green--This special event, sponsored by the Mary Lou Williams Center, is happening in the Nelson Music Room on East Campus--and strangely not on a "green." Confusing locale aside, it features famed percussionist Kahlil Kwame and his seven-piece jazz ensemble. Mellow out to some cool jams as a remedy for Saturday night's hangover. Free.
