Durham now boasts two great Irish pubs

It is said that lightning never strikes the same spot twice.

Well, now we know that this is quite false, at least when it comes to setting up Irish pubs in Durham. Socializing at the University was given a new lease on life last year when The James Joyce was opened on Main Street. Finally, there was a reason not to spend one's evenings in a sensory deprivation tank.

But as it turns out, we have been blessed with yet another Irish pub within stumbling distance of East campus. Last night I went down to investigate "The Celt" on Ninth Street, and met more Irish bar staff than I would on a good night in Galway. I tell you, I did not want to leave the place (which is huge, with high ceilings and a deck outside). The pints were good, too.

Congrats are in order to Brian and the rest for pulling it off yet again. You'll never beat the Irish.... We could almost have an Irish pub crawl in Durham-now who would ever have thought of that?
